The News Show"

The News Show

Arab World Media is partnering with a popular Arabic Christian satellite channel to create a new live programme never before seen on Arab Christian TV.

The News Show is a commentary programme with a purpose to get closer to Arab society by dealing with real life stories and issues that concern people in their daily lives. It will be broadcast live, so people can just pick up the phone, call the show and share their opinion. Two presenters will host a number of invited guests to talk about current topics, unpacking what may lie behind the scenes and what implications there may be for the man on the street. The challenge for these broadcasters will be to avoid getting directly involved in politics. We know this can be done because mature and experienced presenters, especially selected by our partner channel, will anchor the show and keep the discussion lively and useful for all to follow. At the same time, they will seek opportunities to sow the seed of good news and liberation in Jesus Christ.

Arab World Media is providing a special dimension to this live broadcast. In tandem with the live TV show, we are taking the debate onto Facebook and the web - which has played such a powerful role in recent events in Tunisia and Egypt. Our internet producer will operate from the live TV studio, working the Facebook and web pages and passing comments on to the hosts. So, whether by phone, text, Facebook or Twitter, all Arab world peoples can have their say and dialogue with Christians.

Coverage

The News Show will be aired on three major satellite networks, allowing viewers across the entire Arab community in North Africa, the Middle East, the Arabian Gulf, Europe and North America to watch and interact in the same programme at the same time. This is an amazing opportunity to educate and enlighten 330 million people in more than 20 countries.

The audience will also have a chance to question and address issues that can be discussed on following programmes. There will also be opportunity for personal follow-up and counselling. Viewers will be encouraged to join interactive groups on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to receive more information and follow-up.

Now is the time, as never before, for us to take hold of this opportunity to make an impact, but we need your help...

You can pray and you can also give. Even small amounts will make a difference for us. Right now we are looking to raise $122,000 (£81,400), which will enable us to produce and broadcast the live programme, interact with the audience live on various social media platforms, and follow up spiritual seekers for the next six months.

Special Report: Kabyle Ministry in Algeria

Articles

Tamusni.org is a ministry website similar to Maarifa but in the Kabyle language, which is spoken by 5 to 7 million worldwide. Most Kabyles can be found in Algeria, where there has been a huge growth in Christianity over the past twenty years or so. Launched five years ago, Tamusni seeks to present the gospel and engage Kabyle people in conversation about spiritual things. In 2011, we received just over 142,000 visits to the site and 531 communications from individuals; 29 were passed on for face-to-face follow-up with an in-country believer. Read More

The Sky is Not the Limit

Blog

By a member of the Media Team   Dubai is one the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. It has an abundance of skyscrapers, shopping malls, luxury hotels and homes coupled with beautiful beaches and guaranteed sunshine. It is a rich man’s paradise and possibly the easiest non-Western place for a Westerner to be. Everything is shiny and new. It would be no great hardship to live there. It has everything you could wish for! Read More

April 2012

Prayer Feed

Monday 16 April 2012 Pray for the impact of The Seekers, a film sharing the testimonies of believers from the Gulf. Released almost two years ago, the film has now been made available for download on mobile phone. With thousands of Gulf Arabs accessing the internet through mobile devices, this is an important development.   Pray that many in the Gulf would watch this film and learn that there are Christians in their own nations. May many make the choice to believe and follow Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Read More
