Continue lifting up the country of Egypt in prayer. A Pioneer writes...

Egypt is basically without a viable police force. As a result, many people are taking advantage of the situation: theft, muggings, revenge and honour killings, burning churches, etc. Protests continue since the military has done little to bring justice and change. This revolution seems nowhere near the end - seems it has only just begun. The promised elections in September have now been postponed till November with still no clear leader rising to the forefront to take the next presidency. One thing seems clear though: the new generation will not be satisfied until there is real change.

Pray for newly-independent South Sudan. A Pioneer writes:

Although [South Sudan] has many many challenges to face externally and internally, they are all filled with HOPE and EXCITEMENT... One man exclaimed, 'We are no more slaves to the North!'

So I ask you to remember South Sudan (the newest nation in the world) in your prayers. The reality is that they face A LOT of problems and the next years will definitely be a struggle... Also pray for the many slaves in Sudan torn from their families and homeland and presently forced to labour or exploited for sex by their masters. Wrestle in the spiritual realm for their freedom and for the abolishment of this evil institution that has somehow openly survived in Sudan and Mauritania.

Wednesday 6 July 2011

This week, we heard an amazing story... A high school student in North Africa, along with the rest of his class, was set a project to write about one of the monotheistic religions. His group were doing Christianity, so he went on the internet and found a Christian website.

Very soon, he was convicted that what he found there was true and decided to become a Christian. He then submitted his assignment, presenting Christianity as true - which of course was angrily rejected by the teacher. He is now attending a church and was baptized a few weeks ago.

This is just one example of what God is doing through media in the Arab world today! Praise God that this young man has found faith and is standing firm in his conviction that Christ is our saviour. Pray that his faith would continue to grow, that he would continue to have fellowship, and that he would be a fruitful witness to others in the years to come.

Special Report: Kabyle Ministry in Algeria

Tamusni.org is a ministry website similar to Maarifa but in the Kabyle language, which is spoken by 5 to 7 million worldwide. Most Kabyles can be found in Algeria, where there has been a huge growth in Christianity over the past twenty years or so. Launched five years ago, Tamusni seeks to present the gospel and engage Kabyle people in conversation about spiritual things. In 2011, we received just over 142,000 visits to the site and 531 communications from individuals; 29 were passed on for face-to-face follow-up with an in-country believer. Read More

The Sky is Not the Limit

Blog

By a member of the Media Team   Dubai is one the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. It has an abundance of skyscrapers, shopping malls, luxury hotels and homes coupled with beautiful beaches and guaranteed sunshine. It is a rich man’s paradise and possibly the easiest non-Western place for a Westerner to be. Everything is shiny and new. It would be no great hardship to live there. It has everything you could wish for! Read More

Prayer Feed

Monday 16 April 2012 Pray for the impact of The Seekers, a film sharing the testimonies of believers from the Gulf. Released almost two years ago, the film has now been made available for download on mobile phone. With thousands of Gulf Arabs accessing the internet through mobile devices, this is an important development.   Pray that many in the Gulf would watch this film and learn that there are Christians in their own nations. May many make the choice to believe and follow Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Read More
