Ask 2021: Praying for the Middle East
Jesus told a parable to the people of his day that aptly describes what missions is all about.
Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, … and since it had no root, it withered away. Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain… Mark 4:3-8
The fundamental barriers to the gospel have not changed since Jesus’ day, and this parable resonates deeply with the experience of our workers across the Middle East.
This year, in our annual prayer initiative, called ASK 2021, we give you the opportunity to pray into some of the key spiritual obstacles to faith that are particularly prevalent in the Arab world. Please join us in prayer on Friday, the 8th of October, asking God to prepare good soil in many hearts to hear and accept his Word. Prayer is the lifeblood of what we do!
