Digital marketing and social media specialist

Do you tweet, share, and post to social media in your sleep? Do you know what it takes to grow an online community? We’re looking for a digital marketing and social media specialist to manage our social media accounts by implementing strategies and tactics that grow our followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into leads, supporters, and advocates of our organisation. You should have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.

The digital marketing and social media specialist will be part of a team of three people and report to the marketing and communications manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage our social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.
  • Write platform aligned social copy to optimise content.
  • Source and edit high-quality images.
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our organisation, competitors, and industry, both from existing leads and customers as well as from brand new audiences.
  • Work alongside content creators to help distribute content that educates our audience and supports marketing goals.
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence.
  • Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target audience.
  • Track, measure and analyse all initiatives to report on social media ROI.
  • Optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels.

Additional responsibilities:

As part of the wider team:

  • Actively participate in team building and team events.
  • Pray – privately and within the staff team – for the broader work of Arab World Media.
  • Be responsible for and assist with any other activities deemed appropriate and relevant to the role and for the furthering of Arab World Media’s strategic agenda.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Proficiency in using social media software to monitor social media conversations. You will be our ear to the ground.
  • Bonus skills include Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce Pardot, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, videography, and photography.
  • Bonus experience includes demand generation and inbound marketing.

Employment details:

The marketing and social media specialist role is a full-time position based in Worthing, UK. However, we would consider part-time, flexible hours for the right candidate on a pro-rata basis. The salary is dependent on the individual’s experience within the range £22,000 – £26,000.
